Discover the leader you actually are — not the one you think you are.
LightningCoach maps you to one of six leadership imprints through adaptive, scenario-based questions. No self-ratings, no fluff. Built for managers, founders, and the coaches who work with them.

Why this reads truer than a personality test.
Most leadership tools ask you to rate yourself. That’s the wrong instrument for the wrong signal. We do something different — deliberately.
Three steps. About ten minutes.
Tested with managers, founders, and HR leads.
Honestly didn't expect this from a 10-minute test. The imprint actually nailed how I default under pressure.
Loved that there was no 1-to-5 rating nonsense. Every question felt like a real situation from my week.
The blind spot it called out is exactly what my last 1:1 review flagged. A bit unnerving, in a good way.
Short, sharp, and surprisingly accurate. I'd happily put my team through this.
The PRO Report gave me language for things I've felt for years but couldn't name.
The assessment is free. The credential is not.
Your imprint costs nothing and always will — that is a decision, not a promotion. We charge where we add professional standing: certifying practitioners, and mapping whole teams.
Certification pricing is the founding-cohort rate and rises to $499 when the cohort closes. The readiness screen is free either way, and the price is the same whichever route you take — see the standards and refund policy.
A practitioner, not a content team.
LightningCoach was built by Dheeraj Modi, who has spent more than twenty years assessing leaders for a living — most recently heading talent acquisition for a global telecommunications company, where deciding who can lead is the day job, not a framework in a book.
The methodology grew out of a pattern he kept meeting in thousands of interviews: people describe the leader they intend to be, and their decisions describe someone else. Scenarios expose that gap; self-ratings hide it. He is also a doctoral researcher in employee engagement, and a regular voice in India’s HR community.
Every scoring rationale on this site was written or reviewed by a person who has sat across the table from the situation it describes.
AI can coach now. We built for that world.
Millions of people already think out loud with an AI at midnight, for free. Generic coaching is being commoditised in front of us — and pretending otherwise is not a strategy. What survives is the coach who walks in with something the client’s chatbot doesn’t have: a validated read, behavioural signal, and the history of how this person has actually changed.
Adaptive scenario selection, written answers marked against rubrics, validity checks that catch a gamed response. Machines are good at this, so machines do it.
Trust, accountability, and the courage to say the hard thing to someone's face. We certify people for this — and we check, because not everyone is ready.
Your imprint, your trade-offs, where you hesitated, and how it all moves over time. The layer a general-purpose chatbot cannot see — carried by your coach.
This is why the assessment is free, the practitioner bar is high, and the data stays consented and private. We are not defending coaching from AI — we are building the instrument layer that makes human coaches worth more in an AI world.
